Gratitude, our year with The AIDS Memorial on Instagram
With gratitude on the anniversary of our partnership with the AIDS Memorial.
A year ago Adam's Nest began the sale of The AIDS Memorial T-Shirt created by Zach Grear to help bring awareness to The AIDS Memorial on Instagram and raise money for Housing Works.
It has been an amazing thing to watch the followers grow from 40,000 last January, to over 81,500 followers today and growing. We have raised in excess of $7,100 for Housing Works to date and have shipped t-shirts to 18 countries around the globe.
Quite a year, as evidenced by a few celeb photos: (left to right) Wilson Cruz, Tatum O'neal, Karl Schmid, Shirley Manson, Gus Kenworthy, and the cast of The Boys In The Band.
Stuart Armstrong has helped bring together an incredible community of people who share memories of loved ones, read each other's stories, and offer their support to one another in the comments. A few of his thoughts about the memorial are below.
On this anniversary we are proud to offer a second charity t-shirt. The 2019 art was created by artist Hugh Elliott (@wehogayman) and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to SAGE. SAGE is a "National Advocacy and Services Organization that’s been looking out for LGBT elders since 1978. SAGE works to build welcoming communities and keep the issues of LGBT elders in the national conversation to ensure a fulfilling future for all LGBT people."
