"When you have more than you need, build a longer table not a higher fence."
This week we became eligible to be vaccinated, and we were surprised, after hours trying to get an appointment, we were offered a vaccine. We readily got jabbed and felt a major weight had been lifted. We caught the above graphic from Jeremy Novy and it really resonated with us thinking about the summer ahead in Provincetown!
Knowing it is both Passover and Palm Sunday, it had us thinking about Seder and the chair we leave empty. It reminded us of the quote about building a longer table. We chose to support No Kid Hungry knowing how many in the country are experiencing food insecurity. "Adults in households with children were likelier to report that the household didn’t get enough to eat: 15 percent, compared to 8 percent for households without children. And 9 to 15 percent of adults with children reported that their children sometimes or often didn’t eat enough in the last seven days because they couldn’t afford it, well above the pre-pandemic figure. Households typically first scale back on food for adults before cutting back on what children have to eat," according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Now you can support No Kid Hungry AND get this t-shirt.
