For the People Act - Let's safeguard our Democracy!
The fight for our democracy helped achieve change in the oval office, but there is so much work still to do. “After historic turnout and increased mail voting in 2020, state lawmakers across the country are pulling in opposite directions by introducing restrictive and expansive voting legislation.” We are hopeful to live in a USA that truly lives up to its ideals, but the efforts of some of those in power appear to be in opposition. We've been contacting our representatives regularly to make our voice heard, but we know it will take a lot of us speaking up. We are also ensuring we vote in every election whether national, state, or municipal.
We just received an email from Stacey Abrams and Fair Fight Action about a conversation happening this Thursday evening and wanted to share.
"The 2020 election is over, but the fight against voter suppression is more important than ever, with states across the country attempting to roll back the right to vote. Critical federal legislation has been introduced in the U.S. House and Senate that must be passed to safeguard our democracy.
To learn more about the fight to protect our democracy, join me and U.S. Senators Cory Booker, Elizabeth Warren and Mazie Hirono on Thursday, February 25 at 8pm ET for The Fight Continues: A Conversation About How To Be All In for Democracy in 2021.
During this virtual conversation, we will discuss the importance of passing the For the People Act and other voting rights legislation and how Americans across the country can advocate for these bills in their communities. Additionally, Liz Garbus, director and producer of ‘All In: The Fight for Democracy’ will be joining us to talk about the film’s examination of voter suppression in the United States."
Join us Thursday by registering at this link.
I hope to see you there!

We are restocked in our browner, queerer, witchier t-shirts supporting Fair Fight. It is so incredibly important we remain engaged and committed to change.
