We discovered Zach Grear while following the AIDS Memorial on Instagram. Upon noticing a t-shirt appear on some celebrities on the feed we discovered the graphic was designed by Zach. A few back and forth emails and our relationship selling the AIDS Memorial t-shirt to help bring awareness to the account began featuring Zach's graphic. Through June 2019 we sold over 1300 of the first AIDS Memorial t-shirt, shipped to 19 countries around the globe, and have raised in excess of $9,000 for Housing Works. Beginning in July 2019 Zach's AIDS Memorial t-shirt began supporting the Audre Lorde Project;
Zach Grear is a self taught artist inspired by queer erotica mixed with 70’s and 80’s punk aesthetics, specifically 70’s New York. Zach currently lives and works in Brooklyn. We met for the first time in person in the spring of 2018 over coffee and discussed other ways to work together.
We decided to launch a second tee together supporting the Audre Lorde Project; a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color community organizing center, focusing on the New York City area. The graphic is a portrait of Audre Lorde that has Zach's readily recognizable punk aesthetic and a famous quote.
"I am deliberate and afraid of nothing." Audre Lorde
More collaborations are in the work, but this second tee launched in celebration of Audre Lorde's birthday of February 18th.
