Carl Ferrero

We had been following Carl Ferrero on Instagram and had the pleasure of meeting in the summer of 2018.  We are excited to be showing some of his watercolors at Adam's Nest in Provincetown.

Ferrero's art practice is influenced by the history and lineage of LGBTQ+, art, and its impact on social, political and cultural issues.  Carl's work is rooted in queer subject matter, and examines homophobia, homoeroticism, and fetishism.

Born in Vineland, NJ, a farming town, Ferrero now resides in NYC. He has had solo exhibitions at Feature Inc., Vox Populi, Envoy Enterprises and Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts. His work has been included in exhibitions at the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Artists Space, The Elizabeth Foundation, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Exile in Berlin, and Artenova in Italy. Ferrero received his MFA from Brooklyn College in 2006, and has been awarded a Pollock Krasner Foundation grant, and fellowships from the Millay Colony, the AIM program, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts and the Gowanus Studio Space.  Ferrero’s work also appears in ‘A Queer Anthology of Sickness,’ 2019 and ‘A Queer Anthology of Rage,’ 2018, published by Pilot Press, London
