Artist Story
Tawnie Silva

We fell in love with Tawnie Silva's original drawings. They have the feel of vintage greeting cards with a more subversive sensibility that's sure to make you smile.

Born in Massachusetts, Tawnie relocated to Miami after studying at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.

In 2002 Tawnie was awarded a residency at the Art Center South Florida.

In 2004 Tawnie collaborated with the late New York artist Lou Laurita, after their first collaboration solo show. They were immediately featured in Scope New York through Spinello Gallery. Tawnie simultaneously pursued his solo work had his first exhibition as a solo artist in 2008 at the Hollywood Cultural Center.

Solo exhibitions followed at La Mama in New York and Wynwood, Florida at Butter Gallery, just before returning to Massachusetts because of covid shutdowns. His last showing was in a group show summer of 2020 with Place Project Group in the Miami Design District.

October 2021 Tawnie was invited to a group exhibition in Atlanta at BASIK SPACES followed in December at Art Gaysel in Miami Beach, Florida.

Tawnie considers himself a text-based artist. Text has become the medium because the materials are constantly changing. His work keeps a sense of innocence, self-actualization hope, cynicism, and his sexual expression.

You could say it’s all juxtaposition but he believes their coexistence is undeniable.

Adam's Nest was created to embrace and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community with a purpose.

Spread The Love

Adam's Nest is P-Town's best kept secret. Adam is an amazing person and his mission for the company is something everyone should support.

Love, love, love all the different types of graphics available. I can always find relevant items to the causes that matter most to me.

I have several shirts and caps from Adam's Nest. The naughty items are always a hit when I wear them out.

The perfect shop for the activist in you! They support so many great causes and you're certain to find something you can't get anywhere else.

This is my second time purchasing shirts that get compliments everywhere I go. If you're looking for creativity, statement, and edge then this is your place. Love this place.

I have ordered twice and the communication is great, quick shipping and great quality. Adam’s Nest does so much for the LGBTQ+ community and for HIV/AIDS.
