The thing about having an unabashedly queer and naughty shop are the artisans that reach out to you. Seems this duo had an inkling I'd like these: HandblownLA’s prayer candles; so good for so many reasons...
"It all began on a dark and stormy night when two friends ventured out to visit their artist comrade at his studio. Unbeknownst to them, what would begin as a casual studio visit would end up HandblownLA.
Storms like this one didn’t usually hit Los Angeles. As rain clapped ferociously against the warehouse’s tin roof, the three discussed art and process but the weather was distracting and before long their attention diverted to a tower of magazines. This well endowed cache of periodicals turned out to be something quite exceptional; the artist’s decades long collection of vintage gay porn from the 1950’s, 60’ and 70’s. Delighted and giddy, the friends began pulling out magazines and soon were surrounded by stacks of graphic images. Just then, ready to dive headfirst into the publications, the lights flickered and the power went out.
Fortunately, the ever-prepared artist quickly lit a few prayer candles and so began their candlelit vintage porn viewing vigil, and the idea that launched a thousand cocks: “What if we put these cocks on candles?” And so with the artist’s blessing, the duo did, and thus began the story of HandblownLA."
